"Liberal haters"

The other day I took my friend Tom Carter to task for saying that liberals are the side of hatred (toward Bush). My main point was that conservatives have at least as much (if not more) expressed hatred toward liberals.

Today I came across this piece of vitriolic spew at a blog entitled Moonbat Central:

It is impossible to understand politics in the world today without grasping the fundamental fact that there exist two different Lefts. I propose that the two be referred to by everyone as the Stupid Left and the Satanic Left.

The two are very different, although they work together. People who are part of the first are simply stupid people. People who are part of the second may in fact be quite shrewd, but are evil and nefarious. There is no third type of leftist.

Over time, the Stupid Left has been losing its numbers, as many Stupid Leftists either become smarter or morph into Satanic Leftists, and so desist from being mere Stupid Leftists. So a process of selection is occurring whereby the strength of the Satanic Left within the overall Left grows. The anti-American demonstrations we have been witnessing in Europe and the United States are attended by both kinds of Leftists, although they were organized by Satanic Leftists.

This type of bone-jarring, insidious hatred is something I've found fairly common to conservatives. It's shameless and ugly rhetoric has been flung at liberals for the better part of the last three decades.

A commentor at a different blog described this phenomenon of folks thinking it's liberals who are filled with hatred while conservatives merely dislike liberal ideology and don't have hate. To paraphrase, liberals are expected to play by the Marquis of Queensbury Rules while conservatives are allowed to beat on liberals with a tire iron and a bag of oranges.

The disparity between what's acceptable articulation for conservatives vs liberals is marked and stark.

I'm gratifyed that liberals are finally fighting back. It's about time.

Update: Out of curiosity I checked the Blogger profile for the author of the Moonbat Central piece. According to the profile, this guy is a a college professor with a PhD in Economics, currently teaching at the University of Haifa.

This guy is working with youth. And it's Ward Churchill that's getting raked? If Ward Churchill is under fire...this clown deserves no less.
