WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Stevens (R-Alaska--emphasis Carla) said Tuesday he would push to apply broadcast decency standards to subscription television and radio services like cable and satellite.

Adults who write checks to subscription cable and radio aren't smart enough to decide for themselves as to what they want to see and hear? They require the GOP decency police to babysit them? Republicans keep telling us they're smart. But not smart enough to figure out their own individual decency standard?

Next: A GOP weenie roast courtesy of Stevens burning Alaska's porn magazines, plain brown wrappers optional.

Not to be confused with drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which requires no decency standard.
