What's in your head?
As I was listening to NPR last night in the car, I heard an anthropologist tell a story about attending her first grade daughter's curriculum night at school.
When discussing the math curriculum, the teacher asked the parents to find the sum of 38 and 38 in their head. Then asked for the answer.
The teacher next asked the parents to describe to her the process they used in their head to arrive at the answer.
The anthropologist went on to describe how she did it...which was completely different from the way I did it. We both arrived at the same answer, just in very different ways.
So now I'm curious...how did you arrive at the answer? Please share it in comments.
