Superfreak

Doctor CBB over at Code Blue Blog has contracted the rightwinger GOP God Complex that has polluted it's way through the Terri Schiavo issue:

I've watched a steady stream of neurologists, bioethicists, and neurologist/bioethicists from Columbia, Cornell, and NYU interviewed all week on Fox and CNN and MSNBC. They all said about the same thing, that Terri's CT scan was "the worst they'd ever seen"or "as bad as they've ever seen."

Here's the problem with these experts: THEY DON'T INTERPRET CT SCANS OF THE BRAIN. RADIOLOGISTS DO.

And there's absolutely no possible way that these neurologists who examined Terri sat down with a radiologist and discussed her case as part of the examination procedure. No. Chance. Whatsoever.

Doctor CBB Superfreak didn't examine Terri. As far as I can tell he hasn't done anything more than Frist her (watch the videos and make a diagnosis). But Dr. Superfreak...he thinks he knows better.

But it doesn't end there. Doctor Superfreak goes off the cliff:

To prove my point I am offering $100,000 on a $25,000 wager for ANY neurologist (and $125,000 for any neurologist/bioethicist) involved in Terri Schiavo's case--including all the neurologists reviewed on television and in the newspapers who can accurately single out PVS patients from functioning patients with better than 60% accuracy on CT scans.

I will provide 100 single cuts from 100 different patient's brain CT's. All the neurologist has to do is say which ones represent patients with PVS and which do not.

If the neurologist can be right 6 out of 10 times he wins the $100,000.

What a dope. First of all, the neurologists weren't just using the CT. They were also using an electroencephalogram, which measures electrical activity in the thinking areas of the brain.

Terri Schiavo was in a vegetative state for 15 years. Perhaps Doctor Superfreak could tell the class how many individuals who've been in a vegetative state for 15 years actually recover?

But when no neurologist takes him up on his goofy offer, he'll claim victory. Meaningless and shallow though it will be...he'll have his little rightwing bone to chew on.
