Lying with pigs

Edwin Meese III and James Baker III have laughable op/ed piece of John Bolton in today's New York Times.

They describe Bolton as "loyal" and "talented. "Faithful to his obligations". Meese and Baker say they have complete confidence in John Bolton.

Dubious begets dubious, boys. And it doesn't get more dubious than Meese and Baker.

Edwin Meese is a former advisor and Attorney General to President Ronald Reagan. While never actually indicted, Meese has been investigated for shady financial dealings. He was also part of the coverup of Iran/Contra, according to the Independent Council's report.

James Baker is a character with a history of ruthless and ethically challenged actions.

Baker put major stumbling blocks in the path of 9/11 families when they tried to investigate the Saudi flights out of the country. Baker was the Bush front man in Florida during the November 2000 election recount. Baker is also an intregal cog for the extremely shady Carlyle Group, who's reach in Washington and other countries runs deep and wealthy.

The White House must be getting desperate if they're trotting these two out to mount a defense of their UN Ambassadorial nominee. Their disgusting antics over the years are only underscored by words such as "loyal" and "faithful". Our country doesn't need men who are loyal and faithful to the likes of Baker and Meese.
