Gov. Perry is confused
I haven't stepped inside a Church in several years. But, when I read an AP piece on a new mega church in Houston Texas, I was appalled at the ignorance of the most basic Christian beliefs by Texas Governor Rick Perry (R).
Gov. Rick Perry praised the church's new look and told the crowd, "As lawmakers we do a lot of things, but only the church can teach people to love."
Um... Gov? Try reading the Bible, for a change. I would suggest reading 1 John chapter 4 for starters. If you do then I suspect you'll learn that Christians believe that 1.)love can't be taught, and 2.) that true love comes only from God.
Of course you won't hear any of that from Joel Osteen, "pastor" of that mega church. His theology has been likened to paganism by some Christian bloggers.
