It's all Joe Wilson's fault that Karl Rove is a traitor
Or so the GOP would have us believe via (Shakes Sis):
RAW STORY has obtained an exclusive copy of Republican talking points on Bush adviser Karl Rove's leaking the name of a CIA agent to a reporter, circulated by the Republican National Committee to "D.C. Talkers" in Washington. The document, emblazoned with the words "Special Edition" and dated Tuesday, seeks to discredit claims put forth by Ambassador Joseph Wilson, whose wife was 'outed' as a covert operative by a conservative columnist.
The personal responsibility crowd of ethically and morally superior Republicans is sure good at blaming everybody else for their lapses in good judgement.
The talking points are that it's all about Wilson. Wilson is the one who was trying to lie about poor W and his plans for dominion over Iraq. Wilson was the one who went to Niger via Plame, not the Veep's office. Wilson, Wilson, Wilson.
Let's get Wilson on the lips of all the media robotitons instead of Rove. That way..everyone will forget that Rove is a traitrous hate merchant who breached national security by outing a covert CIA operative.
Unless Wilson was holding a gun to Rove's head to force him to out Plame...the responsibility is Rove's. The rest of this fluff and nonsense is nothing more than static.
Oh and just in case you forgot, Oliver Willis reminds us exactly why Rove's leak was a major national security breach:
The leak of a CIA operative’s name has also exposed the identity of a CIA front company, potentially expanding the damage caused by the original disclosure, Bush administration officials said yesterday. The company’s identity, Brewster-Jennings & Associates, became public because it appeared in Federal Election Commission records on a form filled out in 1999 by Valerie Plame, the case officer at the center of the controversy, when she contributed $1,000 to Al Gore’s presidential primary campaign.
To all those defenders of the faith that are claiming Rove is off the hook and the leak is no big deal..that one's for you.
