The "Straight Talk Express" goes off the rails
And so his transition to the Dark Side is complete.
"His" being John McCain's.
McCain's appearance on Meet The Press this morning was some of the most compelling Sunday morning TV talk I've seen in quite awhile. Russert was uncharacteristically hard bitten with McCain, even using what I thought were long abandoned follow up questions in attempt to push McCain on his transformation from apparent independent politico to pathetic Bushco suckup.
Probably the best synopsis of McCain's appearance comes from Georgia10 over at Kos, including McCain's bizarre new attraction to Jerry Falwell.
Kevin and I have often talked about McCain and our dissapointment in what looks to be nothing more than naked ambition to gain the Presidency. Obviously McCain believes the only way to the White House is through the same people that smeared his service and his family during the 2000 campaign. Its clear he's decided that being President is more important than having integrity.
It will be interesting to see how many independents reward McCain for this behavior. My guess is..not very many.
