Scrushy airing his talk show in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY - HealthSouth founder Richard Scrushy has begun airing his talk show "Viewpoint" in Montgomery, the city where Scrushy's bribery trial will begin in May.

"Viewpoint" is a religious-themed show hosted by Scrushy and his wife, Leslie. The show has been airing in Montgomery "maybe a few weeks," he said.

"It's a great ministry. There's a calling, I believe, to do this," Scrushy said Wednesday. Talk show guests have included African bishops and a former Muslim who converted to Christianity, he said.

Scrushy said the decision to broadcast the show in Montgomery is unrelated to the criminal case pending against him in Montgomery. It's part of a strategy to ultimately make "Viewpoint" a national talk show.

"That has nothing to do with any trial," Scrushy said.

That sounds like the very definition of... something, doesn't it?
