Voter-Owned Elections - a review
Former PK writer Nothstine has a great review of VOE on his blog - Voter-owned elections: Two years on
VOE offers, in my estimation, one of, if not THE, best and most practical reforms of how we finance elections in Oregon and the rest of the nation as well. And for two primary reasons: 1. it seems to pass constitutional scrutiny very well and 2. it leaves politicians beholden' to the voters rather than to deep-pocketed special interests.
That's all that I'm going to say about it here. Go read Nothstine's post and comment over there, or here if you have trouble with the blogger comment script (it took me four attempts, the last of which was a total rewrite, before I was able to leave a comment).
