Intel Forgot To Leave Oregon Too
Via Kevin in the comments of the last missive, it's clear that Intel doesn't understand they're supposed to cry and leave Oregon either:
The potential $25 billion Intel will spend upgrading its Hillsboro and Aloha facilities will be spread over the next 15 years. This is part of the agreement Intel struck during 2005 negotiations with Washington County and the City of Hillsboro under terms of Oregon’s Strategic Investment Program.
Attention, SerfdomWorks: That's $25 billion.
With a B.
Carl Saganesque Billyuns and Billyuns. Here in tax-hell Oregon.
While it's true that the agreement is from 2005, with the assumed "anti-tax, anti-rich" attitude that was supposed to be embodied by the brave SerfdomWorks-esque souls who fronted Measures 66 and 67, you'd think that the first thing Intel might do is start to threaten to take its business – and jobs – elsehwere.
But since the whole "Job-Killing Taxes" thing was a fantasy designed to make people vote without brains, maybe it's not such a surprise that a corporation whose name is the first two syllables in the word intelligent should decide to double-down on poor, tax-hell-y, bite-the-wealthy-hand-feeds-us Oregon.
Maybe they know something that the teabag right doesn't.
